MISHAWAKA - John August Eggert, 93, formerly of Mishawaka,
died Monday, April 7, in his home in Brighton, Michigan. He was
born Jan. 15, 1915, in Logansport, Ind., to Otto and Hazel (Parker)
Eggert, and was one of nine children. He graduated from
Washington Township High School in 1933 and spent most of his
adult life in Mishawaka, where he worked at the First National
Bank for more than 40 years. He was a longtime member of the
First Baptist Church of Mishawaka.
He married Naomi Freeman of Mishawaka
on Dec. 20, 1941. She survives. Other survivors include his
sister, Helen Epsom; his brother, William Eggert; his
daughter, Carolyn (Charles) Allen; and three
grandchildren, Lisa Jevens, Jennifer Hamman and
Douglas Hamman.
Funeral services will be held in the Bubb
Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, April 12, where friends may call one hour before the
services. The Rev. David Miller will be officiating. Burial will
be at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Memorial donations may be
made in lieu of flowers to the First Baptist Church of Mishawaka,
