Irene Edgin
Aug. 25, 1920 - Dec. 25, 2000
Irene Edgin, 80, of Doyle Court,
Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, in Saint Joseph
Community Hospital. Irene was born on Aug. 25, 1920, in
Milledgeville, Tenn., to the late W. Lonzo and Bertha Mae
(Bishop) Hollin. She was also preceded in death by a
brother, Carl, and his wife, Lois Hollin; and by her
great-grandson, Todd Gene Elbert Edgin. Irene worked for Bungalow
Pie Shop in the early 60s, and later was employed by American
Home Foods, LaPorte, Ind. She retired in 1978. Irene was a
50-year member of Christ Temple Pentecostal Church, South Bend,
Ind.
Irene leaves to cherish her memories her
loving husband, Olen Vester Edgin; sons, Bobby G. (Karen) Edgin
of Osceola, Ind., Joe T. (Ruth) Edgin of Granger, Ind.; her twin
brother, Erlene "Jack" (Dee) Hollin of Milledgeville,
Roy (Dean) Hollin of Savannah, Tenn., William "Bill"
(Joyce) Hollin of Dayton, Tenn., Tommy C. (Karen) Hollin of
Texarkana, Ark.; her sisters, Betty Lou (Rev. George) Reed
of Lexington, Tenn., JoAnn (Robert) Garlanger of South
Bend; her grandchildren, Tanya (Steve) Stockman and Cindy Korkhouse;
and by her great-grandchildren, Josh, Steven, Tabitha and
Melissa.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 27, in the Chapel Hill Funeral
Home, Osceola, and one hour before services in the church on
Thursday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28,
in the Christ Temple Pentecostal Church, 2307 Elwood Avenue,
South Bend. Interment will be held later at Milledgeville
Cemetery, Milledgeville.
