James C. Edgil

James C. Edgil, 42, residing on N. College Street, South Bend, IN, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2002, at Hospice House, South Bend, following a lengthy illness. James was born on February 18, 1960, in South Bend, IN, to Marlene O'Brien and Alan Edgil, and resided in Oregon from 1975 until 1995, when he returned to South Bend.

James is survived by his companion, Donna Baker of Portland, OR; a daughter, Kelly Baker of Portland; his mother, Marlene O'Brien of South Bend, and his father, Alan (Helen) Edgil of South Bend; two sisters, Kathy Strykul and Kelly Edgil, both of South Bend; and two brothers, Clent (Chris) Edgil and Donald (Tina) O'Brien, both of South Bend. James was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Edgil in 1981. James served as a volunteer at Cardinal Nursing Home in South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2002, at Palmer Funeral Homes, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ, will officiate. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in the funeral home.
