Mrs. J. C. Eberhart, sr., of two miles northeast of
Mishawaka, passed away very suddenly at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday
night from a stroke of paralysis, aged 63 years. Mrs. Eberhart
had been in poor health for two years, but her death came very
unexpectedly.
Mrs. Eberhart was formerly Miss Samantha Huntsigner and
she was born in this county March 23, 1845, and lived here all
her life, and was well and favorable known by many. She was
married Sept. 6, 1866, to Former-Sheriff James C. Eberhart, who
survives with two sons, Harry Eberhart at home and William, of
Mishawaka, and one daughter, Mrs. Walter Ort, of this
city. Also two sisters, Mrs. John Murphy, of Pleasant
Valley, and Mrs. Walter Finch, of this city.
The funeral will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock Saturday
afternoon, the Rev. B. H. Beall, of Mishawaka, pastor of the
Willow Creek M. E. church, officiating. Burial in the Mishawaka
city cemetery.
