Adeline Maxine Eberhart, 101, of East Jefferson Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away in her residence at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Adeline was born in Madison, Wis., to the late Clarina and Elbert Ashcroft.
On Sept. 17, 1919, Adeline Ashcroft married George F. Eberhart, Jr. in Mishawaka. He passed away on Feb. 20, 1968. Adeline was also preceded in death by a son, George Eberhart III in February of 1944; and by a granddaughter, Suzanne Gerard on Feb. 2, 1999.
Adeline is survived by two daughters, Betty Gerard of Mishawaka and Jo Ann Murphy of South Bend, Ind.; three grandchildren, Jill Diane Hedl, Kristen Jo Murphy and Michael P. Murphy; and by seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Adeline was a member of the Mishawaka Elks Lodge Auxiliary, member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, attended the First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka and was active in the PTA.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Ronald P. Miller, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka, officiating. Burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Mishawaka.
