Mrs. William Eastwood, Sr.
Mrs. Helena M. Eastwood, 65, of 527 N.
St. Louis. died at 10 p.m. Wednesday in her residence after a two and a half
year illness. She retried in 1969 from the Indiana Bell Telephone Co.. Inc.,
where she had been employed 27 years. She was born on Nov. 2, 1906 in south
Bend and had lived here all of her life. On Feb. 15, 1928, in Mishawaka, as
Helena Dietl, she was married to William R. Eastwood, Sr., who survives
along with a son, William, Jr.,, a daughter, Mrs. Mary Litherland, both of
South Bend; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard
Dietl of South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Therrien of Granger
and Mrs. Geraldine Arndt of South Bend.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the
Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Services will be conduct at 10 a.m. Saturday in St.
Joseph Catholic church by Rev. James E. Schwartz. C.S.C., assistant pastor.
Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Eastwood was a member of the church.
A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Mrs.
Eastwood also was a member of the Pioneers Club of the telephone company
