SOUTH BEND - Dorothy I. Early, 90, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1:15 a.m. in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Dorothy was born on April 20, 1918, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Stella Sobiech. On September 11, 1937, she married Harry J. Early Sr., who preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her son, Harry J. Early Jr., and by her brother, Robert Sobiech. She is survived by her son, Fred (Sharon) Early of South Bend; five grandchildren, Greg, Bob, Kristie, Cheryl and Melissa; 10 great-grandchildren, Kara, Andrew, Zachary, Jordan, Dawson, Kyle, Dylan, Austin, Brieann and Brayden; and by her sister, Alice Karczewski of South Bend. Dorothy worked in the stockroom at J.C. Penny's. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr, and of the Holy Rosary Society.

Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield St., South Bend, IN 46628.
