MISHAWAKA - Rita D. Eakins, 48, of West Seventh Street, died Tuesday morning in her home of natural causes. Mrs. Eakins was a cashier at Walgreen Drug Store, South Bend.

She was born April 21, 1946, in Louisville, Ky., and lived in Mishawaka since 1957. On May 27, 1978, she married William R. Eakins. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her fiance, Ron Klinger of Mishawaka; two sons, Melvyn J. Zima of Mishawaka and Jon A. Zima of Goshen; three grandchildren; her parents, Ora (Madden) and Francis Liffick of Mishawaka; and a sister, Deborah Nunemaker of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
