Sister Mary Basilide CSC, 82, of the Sisters of the Holy Crosss, died at noon Sunday in Saint Mary’s Convent on the St. Mary’s College campus. As Anna Eagan, she was born in St. Anne, Ill. in 1881, and educated in Chicago, entering the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Danville, Ill. in 1912. She received the habit in 1913 and made her profession of vows in 1918. During her community life she was stationed at St. Mary’s Academy and St. Joseph’s Convent in South Bend. She also was stationed in Elkhart, Plymouth, Valparaiso, Westville, Danville, Morris Ill.

A requiem high mass was offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s at 7 a.m. today and burial was in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
