William E. Dvorak
February 12, 1928 -- July 8, 2010
SOUTH BEND -- William E. Dvorak, Jr., 82 of Cassopolis and South
Bend, passed away at Dujarie House at Holy Cross Village, Notre
Dame, on Thursday, July 8, 2010.
Bill was born in South Bend on February 12, 1928, the eldest son
of William J. and Eulalia (Niesen) Dvorak. He was a 1945
graduate of South Bend Central Catholic High School, South Bend.
Bill was an insurance agent and the father of seven
children. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather and
great-grandfather. Bill was active and a Life Member in the
Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council 553; the Boy Scouts; and
an avid gardener. He enjoyed time with his family at his
home on Diamond Lake. Mr. Dvorak was US Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James
Norman Dvorak. His brother Richard (Margie) Dvorak and his
sister Suzanne (John) Ferry survive him, as well as his aunt,
Sister Mary Elizabeth Niesen, C.S.C.
Bill is survived by his seven children: Michael (Kathleen)
Dvorak; Patrick (Wendy) Dvorak; Kathie (Guy) Miranda of Warren,
Ohio; Margaret Peggy (Bernie) Bolka of Cassopolis,
MI; Suzanne (Bruce) Michaels; Daniel (Robyn) Dvorak of Manhattan
Beach, CA; and William Dvorak III of Ventura, CA.
He is also survived by his twenty grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. Grandchildren: Ryan (Angie)
Dvorak, Todd (Sarah) Dvorak, Sean Dvorak, Brett (Sofie) Dvorak,
Carrie (Steve) Brennan, Brady Dvorak, Casey Dvorak, Tyler Dvorak,
Lindsay Dvorak, Erica (Jim) Lomax, Nicole (Will) Mayfield, B.J.
(Courtney) Bolka IV, Lee Bolka, Erin Michaels, Wesley Michaels,
Brittany Michaels, Adrienne Michaels, Stacy Dvorak, William
Connor Coit, and Alexandra Dvorak. Great-Grandchildren:
Lily Mayfield, Liam Mayfield, Lila Mayfield, Oliver Dvorak,
Caroline Dvorak, and J. Bolka V.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 11, from 5:00-8:00pm at
McGann Hay Granger Chapel, 13260 S.R. 23 (enter off Cherry Rd).
There will be a Parish Vigil Service at 5pm, Sunday in the
funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Monday at 11:00am in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Fir & SR 23,
where friends may call also from 10-10:45am prior to mass.
Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery with military
honors.
