OSCEOLA - Donald Lee Dutoi, 70, of
Venita Court in Osceola, passed away of natural causes in his
residence on Monday, February 11, 2008. Don was born December 2,
1937, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Maurice and Ruth (Meek)
Dutoi.
On October 2, 1990, Don was united in
marriage to Mary Cain in Las Vegas, Nevada. Surviving are his
wife, Mary Dutoi of Osceola; his father, Maurice Dutoi, and his
wife, Cladice of St. Petersburg, Florida; their children, Traci
(Kevin) Hipps of Canton, North Carolina, Jeff (Debbie Ward) Dutoi
of Mishawaka, Todd (Heidi) Dutoi of South Bend, Indiana, Jill
Dutoi (Jamie Yoder) of Mishawaka, Indiana, Lisa (B-Ray) Kinzer
of Elkhart, Indiana, Angie (Mikel) Glossenger of Granger,
Indiana, Mike (Michelle) DeGraff of Syracuse, Indiana, and
Lynette (Ben) Joy of Elkhart, Indiana. Also surviving are
23 grandchildren, and Don's siblings, Nancy (Lynn) Snyder of
Mishawaka, Paul "Butch" (Carol) Murray of
Tucson, Arizona, Marsha Hoover of Sierra Vista, Arizona,
and Gary (Sarah) Murray of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Don was
preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Murray.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to
8 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home
in Osceola, with a Rosary service to be performed at 7:30 p.m.
Friends may also call one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. Mass on
Friday, February 15, 2008, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553
Fir Road in Granger. Interment will follow in the Garden of
Liberty at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana.
Don was a graduate of Mishawaka High School,
class of 1956. He then served his country in the U.S. Army,
enlisting in 1957 and achieving the rank of staff sergeant before
his honorable discharge in 1963. Don was employed in management
by the Dodge Company in Mishawaka, and later by the Bendix
(Allied Signal) Corporation in South Bend before his retirement
in 1997. In his spare time, Don enjoyed woodworking, cooking,
traveling, gardening, all sports, especially Notre Dame sports,
baseball, fishing and bowling. He enjoyed spending time with his
family and grandchildren, and attending his grandsons' wrestling
meets. Don was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger,
and the American Legion Post #161 in Mishawaka. In memory of
Donald Dutoi, contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association.
