Velma Edith Dunn, 87, of Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 12:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in Fountainview Place. She was born on Feb. 18, 1914, in Oolitic, Ind., to the late Mable (Thomas) and Grover Anderson. Velma was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Morrison and Carol Hamm; and by a brother, Dale Anderson.

On June 14, 1937, in Martinsville, Ind., she married Otto Ellis Dunn, who also preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1994. Velma is survived by two sons, Daniel Jared Dunn and Dallas Jan Dunn, both of South Bend, Ind.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Helen Thompson of Martinsville and Grovetta Tosti of Bedford, Ind.

Velma was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, South Bend, the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #594, South Bend, and the Order of the Amaranth Court #11, South Bend.

Funeral services for Velma will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 44210, 525 North Illinois Street, Indianapolis, IN 46244-0210.
