George W. Dunn

April 11, 1896 – April 19, 1965

George W. Dunn, 69, of 902 E Dayton St., died of emphysema at 8am today in his home.  He was an employee of Soens Electric Co before he became seriously ill six years ago.

Born on April 11, 1896, in Marion OH, he had resided in South Bend since 1953.  On July 7, 1920, in Marion, he married May Snyder, who survives.  Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Christian of South Bend and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis of New York City; 11 grandchildren and a sister, Miss Katherine Dunn, of Marion.

Friends may call after 4pm Tuesday at the Walsh-Bilancio-Guisinger Colonial Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St.  Services will be at 9am Thursday in St Matthew’s Co-Cathedral, Rt Rev Msgr Arnold J. Wibbert, rector, officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.  He was a member of Post 50, American Legion; the Holy Name Society and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
