OSCEOLA - Delwin Martin Dudek, 83, of Osceola, passed away
at 3:05 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in his home surrounded
by family. Del was born on May 16, 1924, in Ontonogan, MI, to the
late Otto and Margaret (Kaatz) Dudek.
On September 4, 1949, he married Wilma
"Boots" Berkey. He proudly served his country
during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He attended and graduated from
Valparaiso University, then went on to work for Adams &
Weslake for many years; he also worked for Riblet Products and
Whitehall. He was an active and loyal member of Our Redeemer
Lutheran Church, South Bend, where he was superintendent of
Sunday school for 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58
years, Wilma of Osceola; son, Terry (Robin) Dudek of Granger;
five grandchildren, Kimberly (Jack) Grund of Cedar Lake,
IN, Derek Dudek of Hobart, IN, Brittany Dudek of Porter, IN and
Denise and Jenna Dudek, both of Granger; two great grandchildren,
Jazmin Grund and Jacob Dudek. He is also survived by his brother,
Frank (Joyce) Dudek of Wausau, WI, as well as many extended
family and wonderful friends. He is preceded in death by his
parents and one daughter, Jill Dudek.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.,
today, February 22, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley
Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m.,
Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 805
S. 29 St., South Bend, with Pastor Steven Latske officiating
