SOUTH BEND - Joyce Longfellow Dudeck, 67, residing in South Bend,
passed away at 1:40 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Morningside
Nursing Home. She served with Big Brothers/Big Sisters for 17
years, then worked as secretary at Good Shepherd United Methodist
Church for eight years. Joyce was born on August 1, 1942, in
South Bend, IN, to Leroy and Adelvice (Bronzetti) Longfellow, and
had lived here most of her life. On January 26, 1979, in
Mishawaka, IN, she married David Paul Dudeck, who survives. Along
with her husband David she is survived by three daughters, Anna
Seconda Ricci of South Bend, Gina Marie (John) Hite and Theresa
(Tom) Bell, both of Mishawaka; three sons, Anthony J. Ricci of
Clearwater, MN, Paul (Heather) Dudeck of Osceola and Charles
Dudeck of South Bend; 11 grandchildren, Cassandra, Cristina,
Andrew, Tasia, Christa, Maria, Breanna, Alexandria, Breya, James
and Brielle; and one great-granddaughter, Airess. Also surviving
are three sisters, Barbara Klimek of South Bend, Theresa (David)
Mateski of Hillsboro, OR, and Lisa (James) Hite of Mishawaka; her
brother, Michael (Cindy) Longfellow of South Bend; two
sisters-in-law, Mary Dudeck of South Bend and Marcia (Dave)
Salmon of Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was
preceded in death by her parents, and by a nephew, Ryan Michael
O'Brien. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April
2, 2010, in Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka
Ave., South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM
today in the funeral home. Special thanks to the caregivers at
Milton Adult Day Care and Morningside Nursing Home. Contributions
