Dorothy C. Drejer, 91, of Hamilton Grove Retirement Community, formerly of Western Avenue, passed away at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2001, in the retirement community. Mrs. Drejer was born on December 31, 1909 in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. She retired as a clerk from Rose Fuel and Materials.

On November 19, 1948, as Dorothy C. Demski, she married Stanley Drejer, who preceded her in death in May 1981. She is survived by her sister, Henrietta E. Nowinski of South Bend, IN, three nieces, Corinne Patton of South Bend, IN, Donna Niemann of Mishawaka, IN, and Mary Margaret Long of Osceola, IN; and by four nephews, John Nowinski of South Bend, IN, Francis Drejer of Virginia, Thomas Drejer of Indianapolis, IN, and James Boyle of Nebraska. She was preceded in death by a niece, Patricia Cotterman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2001, in St. Patrick's Church. Entombment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Mrs. Drejer was a member of St. Patrick's Parish. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hamilton Communities.
