Sister Mary Edward CSC, 67, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Saint Mary’s Convent. She was born Mary Elizabeth Doyle in Grand Rapids, Mich. and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Feb. 26, 1926. She received the holy habit on Aug. 15, 1926 and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1928. She was assigned to teaching in high schools throughout her community life, serving both at St. Mary’s Academy and St. Joseph High School in South Bend. She also taught in Hammond, Michigan City, and in Anderson, Ind. She also held teaching positions in Morris, Ill.; and Saly Lake City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both on the campus of St. Mary’s College. Friends may call at the convent parlor at St. Mary’s until the time of the funeral.
