Mary Lucinda Chapleau Doyle of
Granger passed away Tuesday, March 30, 1999, of an extended
illness in Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She was born November
7, 1902, in Turner Falls, MA, the daughter of Mary Carey and
Louis A. Chapleau.
On October 22, 1926, in Providence, RI, as
Mary Lucinda Chapleau, she married, John J. Doyle, who preceded
her in death on Feb. 17, 1984. She is survived by a daughter,
Jacqueline M. Bark (James) of Granger, IN; two sons, James
J. Doyle (Maxine) of Joliet, IL, and Thomas J. Doyle of Brea, CA;
three sisters, Rita, Gertrude and Lillian Chapleau, all of South
Bend; and one brother, Richard J. Chapleau of South Bend. She was
preceded in death by a brother, Louis C. Chapleau. Her surviving
grandchildren are Christe Doyle of Joliet, IL, Michael Doyle of
Tulsa, OK, Ann Doyle Dumas of Williams, OR, Mary Kathleen
Bark Garcia of Eagle Pass, Texas, Nancy Bark Reyes
of Lindenwold, NJ, Ann Bark Squier of Houston, Texas,
James Bark, III, and William P. Bark, both of South Bend, IN. She
is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and two
great-great- grandchildren. Mary was a graduate of South Bend
Central High School and attended St. Mary's College.
She was a longtime member of St. Pat's
parish were a memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 6, 1999. Cremation has taken place, with interment
in Riverview Cemetery. Kaniewski Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge
of arrangements.
