1, 1927 - May 24, 2010SOUTH BEND - Margaret Joan Dougall, 83, of South Bend, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, in her home. She was born March 1, 1927, in Burlington, IN, the daughter of Ora L.H. and Goldie Mae (Brown) Colcord. Margaret graduated from Niles High School. On January 6, 1953, in Angola, IN, she married Laurence J. Dougall, who preceded her in death on April 14, 2005. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. Margaret is survived by four sons, Robin S. Dougall of Mishawaka, Kenneth W. Dougall, Bruce J. Dougall and Brian L. Dougall, all of South Bend; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Julianne) Dougall, Patick Dougall, Matthew Ward, Adam Ward, Andrew Dougall, Jennifer (Aaron) Burtman, Brandon Dougall, Anna (James) Penn and Datlyn Dougall; two great-grandchildren, Lorianne Dougall and Lindsey Dougall; two sisters, Marilyn Nelson and Shirley Harris, both of Niles, MI; and one brother, Norman Colcord, also of Niles. Living most of her life in South Bend, Margaret worked in various restaurants, at Simplicity Pattern, and as a cook at the Logan Center. She enjoyed reading, fishing and camping. She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren and spent many hours babysitting for them. Funeral services for Margaret will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010, in the Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, with the Rev. Greg Crump officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. today in the funeral home.
