Dorothea Mae Douberteen, 79, of South
Bend, Ind., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 25, after a
long illness. She was born on Aug. 18, 1924, in South Bend, the
daughter of Robert and Imo (Mann) Hart, who
preceded her in death. She was a lifelong resident of Michiana,
having graduated from Mishawaka High School. She worked for
Indiana Bell for many years, and was a beloved member of the Clay
United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband, Carl
Douberteen; her son, W. Thomas (Carol) Nelson Jr. of
Newtown, Pa., from her first marriage; and her husband's
children, Debra Martin of Elkhart, Ind., and Dennis
(Annette) Douberteen of Granger, Ind. She was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother to six grandchildren, great-grandmother to
two great-grandchildren, and a friend to all. She will be sadly
missed by those who knew her well.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
today, April 27, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St.,
and one hour prior to services in the church. Services will be
held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Clay United Methodist Church, with
Rev. Robert Vale officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Memorial contributions may be
made to Clay United Methodist Church.
