Virginia R. Doty, 75, of Grand Boulevard, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 9:15 p.m. on Monday, March 20, in Hospice House, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Doty was born on Nov. 16, 1924, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late John and Flossie (Branstrator) Zion. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Doty, four sisters and one brother.

On Dec. 19, 1943, in Mishawaka, as the former Virginia R. Zion, she married James F. Doty, Jr., who also preceded her in death on March 19, 1987. Mrs. Doty is survived by four sons, Dennis (Carol) Doty of Cullman, Ala., David (Monica) Doty of Twinsberg, Ohio, Richard (Doreen) Doty of Troutdale, Ore., and John Doty of Mishawaka; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Gilbert Zion of Mishawaka. Mrs. Doty graduated in 1945 from Mishawaka High School, and was also a past member of the Milburn Boulevard Church of Christ, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, March 22, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, in the funeral home, with Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
