James A. Dosman
Sept. 24, 1924 - June 6, 2001
James A. Dosman, 76, of Springfield,
Ill., died at 5:21 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, in St. John's Hospital.
He was born Sept. 24, 1924, in Mishawaka,
Ind., to the late John A. and Edith M. (Arnold) Dosmann.
On Jan. 20, 1973, in Worthington, Ohio,
he married Nancy H. Stark, who survives. He is also survived by a
brother, Charles A. (Dorothy) Dosmann of Mishawaka; a
brother-in-law, O. Porter (Carol) Stark of Brentwood, Tenn; three
sisters-in-law, Marge Dosmann of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Helen
Dosmann and Ellen Heaton Dosmann, both of South Bend; and by 35
nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Christ the King
Parish and a member of American Legion Post #32. He was formerly
in administration for the Illinois Department of Revenue,
retiring in 1986. He was also an inventor with a U.S. patent on Jan.
26, 1999, on fluid power transmission for a turbo jet and a
rocket power system, and held a patent on a vehicle gas turbine
power system. He was a graduate of Purdue University, and was a
veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during World War II.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday,
June 11, in Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Road, with
Father David Lantz officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m.
Sunday, June 10, in the funeral home. Interment will be at Camp Butler
National Cemetery. Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County
will conduct military graveside services.
