Helen Kalber Dorman, 86, of Cottage
Grove Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after a brief illness
at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, May 9, in her residence. She was born on
Oct. 26, 1910, in South Bend, to James Carr and Nettie Arnold,
and had lived here most of her life. Helen was a homemaker.
On May 16, 1934, she married Peter Kalber
in South Bend. He passed away in 1961. In January 1970, she was
married to Henry J. Dorman, who preceded her in death in 1979.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Karen and Kathy
Kalber; a son, William Howe; and by a granddaughter,
Laurie Ann. Helen is survived by four daughters, Barbara Wetter
and her husband Thomas, Mary Vida, Helen Martinez,
and Nancy Collins and her husband Larry, all of South
Bend; four sons, James ''Red'' Kalber and his wife Gloria of
South Bend, Daniel and his wife Lenore Kalber of Waldorf, Md,
David and his wife Teresa Kalber of Terre Haute, Ind., and George
and his wife Melissa Kalber of Bedford, Ind.; six stepchildren of
the Spencer, Ind., area; 33 grandchildren; and by 34
great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and
6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral
Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street. Funeral services will be held at 1
p.m. on Tuesday at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be made to St. Joseph County Hospice or to Ancilla Health.
