Eileen P. (Hiss) Dominic, 83, of
Rosemary Lane, formerly of Longfellow Avenue, South Bend, died
Saturday afternoon in Memorial Hospital. Eileen was Parish
Secretary in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, for several
years. She was born February 10, 1918, in South Bend to John and
Beatrice (Ryan) Hiss who preceded her in death,
along with a daughter, Katherine Ann and a sister, Joan Tehan.
On August 28, 1951 in St. Joseph Catholic
Church, she married William W. Dominic, who survives, along with
a daughter, Mary T. (Joel) Benkie of Coto De Zaza,
California; a son, Mark W. of South Bend; two grandsons, Kyle and
Trevor Benkie; and a sister, Rosemary Blume of Mishawaka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the
Notre Dame Campus. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove C
Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the HICKEY
Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson, 289-1000, where a rosary will be
said at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Eileen was a member of St.
Patrick’s Catholic Church and a graduate of South Bend
Central High School. Memorial contributions may be made to the
American Heart Association, 2410 N. Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN
