SOUTH BEND - Services for Edna Jean Dokes, 64, of St. Joseph's Care Center-Notre Dame, who died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Second Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Alford's Mortuary.

Mrs. Dokes was born Sept. 1, 1929, in Union, Miss., and lived in South Bend since 1969. In 1949, in Osceola, Ark., she married J.C. Dokes. He died Dec. 18, 1964. She is survived by six daughters, Joetta Wilson, Patricia Dokes, Toni Marie Binion, Sharlyn Dokes, Gale Binion and Arenda Dokes, all of South Bend; four sons, James, Larry, Ronald and Eric, all of South Bend; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Montgomery of Chicago; and two brothers, Clarence Hunter of South Bend and Walter Hunter of Chicago. She was a member of the church.
