Sister Mary Ethel CSC, 88, of St.
Mary’s Convent died Saturday night in the convent after a
lengthy illness. Born Jan. 8, 1887 in Chicago, as Mary Elizabeth Dodd,
she entered the congregation on Aug. 14, 1901. On Aug. 15, 1904
she was received as a novice and made her profession on Aug. 5,
1906. She was assigned to teaching throughout her community life,
serving in Plymouth, Illinois, California, New York, Ohio,
Maryland and Washington DC. Shehad resided at the convent since
1966.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Our
Lady of Loretto Church and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace
Cemetery. Friends may call today and Tuesday in the convent
parlor.
