She married Dr. Frank Doddridge in 1931 and moved to South Bend, Indiana, where she worked as a librarian at the University of Notre Dame and later at the South Bend Public Library. She lived in South Bend, Indiana, from 1931 to 2000, and then moved to Overland Park, Kansas, in 2000 to be close to relatives for care. She is survived by a brother & sister-in-law, Richard & Marianne Sloop of Overland Park, Kansas, nieces (Rebecca Pierce & Candace Sloop) and nephew (Mark E. Sloop), a great-nephew (Richard Pierce), and a great-niece (Racheal Spears), as well as many friends. She valued her frequent travels around the world, particularly China and Japan, her bridge club and, of course, playing golf - Her favorite course was Elbel Park Golf Course in South Bend. Even though she was a graduate of the University of Missouri and a loyal Tiger, she loved the fighting Irish of Notre Dame. She will always be remembered as a very generous and caring lady from that nearly forgotten generation & era of history which saw much hardship & sacrifice and which also brought extraordinary change and benefits to the generation of today, and will be truly missed by all who loved her. Services will be private, with burial at the Maple Hills Cemetery, Kirksville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to hospice or to a charity of their choice. Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton, MO, is handling arrangements.
