Berry R. (Ross) Dodd, 64, of Homewood
Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept.
18, in his residence. Berry was born in Lutts, Tenn., on Oct. 18,
1936. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Venella
(Tidwell) Dodd; and by a brother, Donald Dodd.
On Sept. 17, 1956, Berry married Frances Quinn
in Mishawaka. Frances survives. He is also survived by a
daughter, Amy (Greg) Standridge of Mishawaka; two sons,
Kerry (Barb) Dodd of Mishawaka and Kenneth (Vicki) Dodd of
Osceola, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Amanda Alwine, Preston
Dodd, Samantha Dodd, Shawnda Bernard, Kenneth Dodd II,
Keagan Standridge and Kirkland Standridge. Berry also has two
great-grandchildren, Christopher Bernard and Pierce Alwine. Berry
has three sisters, Marvelene Bridgeman of Lutts, Tenn.,
Ethel Mae Strickland of Lutts and Betty Bryant of
Mishawaka; two brothers, Roy Dodd of Cypress, Tenn., and Jimmy
Dodd of Mishawaka. Berry worked for Mishawaka Municipal Utilities
as an operator in the waste treatment plant, retiring July 1,
2001, after 32 years of service. Berry enjoyed gardening, fishing
and hunting.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 20, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main
Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 21, in the Bubb Chapel with Rev. Russell Graf
officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, South
Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph
County.
