SOUTH BEND - Anne L. Dobski, 79,
a loving wife and mother, of Brookfield Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away
at 4:55 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, in St. Joseph Medical Center.
Mrs. Dobski was born on Nov. 18,
1918, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Leo and Lillian Czarnecki; and by two sisters and four
brothers.
On Oct. 1, 1938, in South Bend,
as Ann L. Czarnecki, she married Edmund S. Dobski, who survives.
She is also survived by a
daughter, Mikki Dobski (Peter) Shidler of South Bend; three sons, E. Michael
(Sharon) Dobski of NewBurgh, Ind., Thomas (Carolyn) and Bernie (Mikki) Dobski
of South Bend; 11 grandchildren, James Dobski, Janine Dobski, Michael Dobski,
Cheryl K. (Dennis) Henry, Christi K. (Ray) Mullen, Stephen Dobski, Melodi (Pat)
Bauer, Joe (Michelle) Dobski, Matthew Dobski, B.J. Dobski and Anna Shidler;
seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wesolowski (John) Siwek of South
Bend; and by a brother, Joe (Jackie) Czarnecki of South Bend.
Mrs. Dobski was a member of St.
Hedwig Parish, Daughters of Isabella, the Rosary Altar Society, and was a
former den mother. She had coached and played volleyball, softball and
basketball. She was known as ''Little Annie Czarnecki,'' and was the first
woman to pitch a no-hit and no-run softball game in northern Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 3, in St. Hedwig Church, with Reverend Leonard
Chrobot officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a combined
parish and Rosary Altar Society Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
