Donna L. Dobrodt, 72, of Mishawaka,
passed away Friday morning, October 27, 2006, in her home. Donna
was born October 6, 1934, in Sparta, Michigan, a daughter of the
late Louis and Jennie (Ostrander) Woolworth. She grew up
in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School. Donna lived many
years in the Mishawaka area. Her employment included Chuck and
Sons Plumbing, Culligan Soft Water, and she retired after 18
years with the Division of Family and Children where she was
proud of her job in claims recovery. Donna was a member of
South Side General Baptist Church in Mishawaka. She gave many
hours of her time volunteering in her community and received
awards for her many hours with RSVP. Donna knitted many baby
items for Busy Hands. She was an avid and accomplished bowler,
playing on several leagues, and was a member of the Indiana 600
Club. Donna also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.
Donna's family was an important part of her
life. Her surviving family includes a daughter, Michelle (Dale)
Winterman of Mishawaka; a son, Bryan Johnson of North Liberty;
two sisters, Delores Carew of Kent City, Michigan, and Evelyn
Schaefer of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren, Rachael, Kristina,
Jennie and Tasha; and 12 great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded
in death by her husband, Alfred Dobrodt; former husband, Max Johnson;
and by a sister, Esther Thomas.
Friends may spend time with Donna's family
on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Thallemer, Goethals &
Wells Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka. Services
will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel,
with Pastor Jeff Little officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Envelopes are available
in the funeral home.
