Hilda J. Dobecki, 86, of Westerville, Ohio, died on Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998. She was formerly of South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Dobecki retired from Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, Ind., and the Senior Citizens Club of Columbus Colony. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dobecki; and by two brothers, Walter Wise and Howard Wise. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Dobecki of Columbus, Ohio, and JoAnn (Ronald) Dobecki Shopbell of Twin Falls, Idaho; a grandchild, Janna Lynn Shopbell of Moscow, Idaho; a sister, Helen (John) DeWees of Elkhart, Ind.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Albright United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Judith Carson and Rev. Ken Mahan officiating. Private interment will be held at the Chapel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grant Riverside Hospice of Columbus; to Columbus Colony Housing in Westerville, Ohio; or to the Albright United Methodist Deaf Ministry in Mishawaka.
