George Lee Dixon

George Lee Dixon, 44, of North St. Louis Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Born to the union of John Wesley Dixon Sr. and Sara (Allen) Dixon, he was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Dixon Sr., his brother, John Jr., and nephew, Melvin Dixon.

On Aug. 4, 1981, he married Mary (Gamble) Dixon, and from that union one son was born, George L. Dixon Jr. He was a 1977 graduate of Adams High School. Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Mary; his mother, Sarah Dixon; three brothers, Leroy (Sherlyn) Dixon, Dennis (Casinia) Dixon, all of South Bend, and James (Debbie) Dixon of Indianapolis, Ind.; five sisters, Ivory (Willie) Morris of Norcross, Ga., Katie Dixon of South Bend, Dorothy Ivey and Kathleen Lewis, both of Long Beach, Calif., and LaTasha (Steven) Reindl of Menomonee Falls, Wis.

Services for Mr. Dixon will be held at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 10, in the Clark O'Neal Funeral Home, 1032 W. Washington St., South Bend. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Mr. Dixon was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, who will truly miss him.
