Sister Mary Amabilis CSC, died Thursday morning in Saint Mary’s Convent after an extended illness. She was born as Bedelia Dillon in Peoria, Ill. in 1884. She was educated in Peoria Schools and attended Browns Business College there. She devoted several years to secretarial work in Peoria and Washington DC, before her entry into the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Crossin 1919. She received the habit the same year and made her profession of final vows in 1924. She had been stationed at St. Mary’s College during most of her community life with the exception of 1955 and 1956 when she was at St. Mary’s Academy.

A requiem high mass will be at 6 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto followed by burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s. Friends may call in the Convent parlors.
