Margaret H. De Wulf
Sept. 12, 1914 - March 5, 2006
Margaret Hortense De Wulf, 91, formerly of West 12th Street,
Mishawaka, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, March 5, in the
Countryside Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mishawaka.
Margaret was born on September 12, 1914, in Silves, Illinois, as
the daughter of the late Arthur and Sophie (Van Landtshoote)
Verslype. Also preceding Margaret in death were two brothers,
Desire Verslype of Mishawaka and Henry Verslype of Mishawaka; and
a sister, Marie Miller of Williamsburg, MI. On June 29, 1940 in
St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as Margaret H. Verslype, she
married Gaston De Wulf, who preceded her in death on December 9,
1992.
Surviving Margaret are her three children, Christine Moyer of
South Bend, Cathryn Corns of Homasassa, FL, and Gerald De Wulf of
Goodyear, AZ; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Margaret spent most of her life in Mishawaka, moving here in 1923
with her family from Illinois. She was a member of St. Bavo
Catholic Church and was a former member of the Birch Lake Yacht
Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She
was active in girl scouts, Recovery and Bible study. Margaret
enjoyed both square dancing and ball room dancing, traveling to
see her family scattered throughout the United States, and doing
craft work. But most of all she enjoyed reading to her
grandchildren.
Visitation for Margaret will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.,
with a Rosary recited at 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 8th, in
the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March
9th, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England
officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,
Osceola.
