Alphonse DeVos

Sept. 27, 1922-March 26, 1995

MISHAWAKA - Alphonse DeVos, 72, of South Spring Street, died at 4 p.m. Sunday in his home following an illness. Mr. DeVos retired in 1982 from Dodge Manufacturing Co. after 28 years of service.

He was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Stekene, Belgium. Surviving are a daughter, Debra Roth of Syracuse; a son, James of Angola, Ind.; and five grandchildren. He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend, BK Club, Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call a half-hour before services Tuesday in the church. Hahn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association.
