Albert William Detling, aged 65, of 702
North St. Joseph Street, died at 7:10 PM Tuesday in St. Joseph
hospital after an illness of one week with a heart ailment. He
was born in South Bend September 25, I 1882, and spent his life
here. In 1917 in South Bend he married Ethel who survives.
Mr.Detling was superintendent of the South Bend Lathe Works
before his retirement. Surviving are his widow; a son,
Miles William, of Willoughby, Ohio; two granddaughters, and a
sister, Mrs. Anna Detling of Los Angeles, California. Friends
may call in the residents after 7 PM today. He was a fourth
degree member of the Knights of Columbus, counsel No. 553. The
Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 8 PM Thursday in
the residence.

Funeral services for Albert William Detling, 702 North St. Joseph's Street, will be at 9 AM Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Members of Council No. 553, Knights of Columbus, will recite the Rosary at 8 PM Friday in the residents instead of today as announced. Pallbearers will be fourth degree K. of C., C. M. Schultheis, Herman B. Kastner, William Horgan, Leo Degen, Florian B. Salzan, Louis F. Wickey. An honor guard composed of members of the Father Nieuwiand assembly of the K. of C. will be Walter L.Shiltz, Fred B. Dressel, Otto A. Kuhn, and Fred J. Hiss. Friends may call in the residence.
