MISHAWAKA - Ross W. Desimone, 78, of Mishawaka, passed
away at 11:45 Friday, August 1, 2008, in his residence. Ross was
born on January 6, 1930, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late
Victor and Anna (Deluvia) Desimone. On July 22, 1950, in
Roseland, he married the former Helen A. Rauscher, who
survives along with five daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Schmitt
of South Haven, Michigan, Cathy (Robert) Veal of
Mishawaka, Toni L. Desimone of South Bend, Deana (Mark) Ebling
of Osceola and Kelley S. Desimone of Mishawaka; eight
grandchildren, Kelly, Jodi, Marc, Jenny, Jerry, Adam, Amy and
Josh; eight great-grandchildren, Kimber, Taylor, Cayden, Mikayla,
Joshua, Siyara, Trinity and Gage; three brothers, Larry (Candy)
Desimone of Osceola, Victor (Becky) Desimone and Michael
(Phyllis) Desimone, both of Mishawaka; and a sister, Sarah (Sam) Rothy
of Mishawaka. Ross and Helen were residents of South Haven,
Michigan, from 1964 to 1976 where Ross was a supervisor for
Control Rubber before moving to South Haven. Ross spent three
years on the Mishawaka Fire Department. Ross and Helen moved back
to the area in 1976 where he went to work for Mobilecraft in
Elkhart as a machine operator. After retirement Ross worked part
time at Meijers in Mishawaka. He was past governor for the South
Haven Moose Club in South Haven, a member of the De Amici's Club
in Mishawaka and a United States Army veteran.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday from
2:00 to 4:00 PM in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street,
Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM in the
funeral home, with Rev. Erv. Mize officiating. Burial will follow
at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
