Sister Stella Maria CSC, died Sunday morning in Saint Mary’s Convent after a brief illness. She was born Stella Derr in Streator, Ill. in 1897. She entered the order of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1916 and made her final profession of vows in 1921. She taught in both eastern and western province schools. Illness forced her retirement two years ago, when she came to St. Mary’s Convent.

A requiem high mass will be offered at 6 a.m. Wednesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both at St. Mary’s. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
