Sister M. Laurent Dermondy CSC, 85, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday in her residence. She was born March 8, 1906 in Ogden, Utah as Barbara Ellen Dermondy. Survivors include a sister, Sister M. Coronata CSC. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on July 2, 1926; was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1927; and professed her final vows Jan. 6, 1929. She served as a nurse in hospital of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Utah, Idaho, California, and Ohio. Her last assignment was as pastoral ministers for 12 years at Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. 

Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial following in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both at St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday in the convent where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
