SOUTH BEND - Memorial services for Marion E. Deravin, 88, of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, who died at 6 p.m. Monday in the nursing home, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. McGann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation.

Mrs. Deravin retired from Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, N.J. She was born April 18, 1905, in New York City, and lived in South Bend since 1990, coming from Nokomis, Fla.

On Jan. 2, 1929, in New York City, as Marion Hertzel, she married Victor L. Deravin. He died in 1992. She is survived by two daughters, Carol F. Morris of Union and Marion M. ``Peggy'' Ford of Brogue, Pa.; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Edward A. Hertzel of San Diego. She was a graduate of Hunter College, Post Graduate Hospital, New York City, and was a lyric soprano.
