SOUTH BEND - Lucy McDaniels DePriest, 91, of 3601 W. Jefferson Blvd., died at 8:27 a.m. Thursday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal. Mrs. DePriest was a former domestic worker. She was born April 15, 1903, in Memphis, Tenn., and lived in South Bend for 60 years, coming from Memphis.
She is survived by two cousins, Betty Hampton of South Bend and Jessie Mae Elliott of Memphis. She was a member of Laymen Chapel CME Church and served as senior steward of Progressive Household of Ruth Chapter 6747.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services in the church. Clark's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
