April 13, 1919 -- Oct. 12, 2004

Elaine L. DeNeve, 85, formerly of West 8th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 12, in Saint Joseph Care Center West, South Bend, Ind.

Elaine was born on April 13,1919, in South Bend, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Geldner) Farrell, who both preceded her in death.

On June 7, 1945, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as the former Elaine Farrell, she married Joseph A DeNeve, who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2002.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon DeNeve and Kathryn (Philip) Burner, both of South Bend; one sister, Dorothy (George) Tekker of Osceola, Ind.; one brother, Leroy (Theresa) Farrell of Elkhart, Ind.; and one granddaughter, Anne Burner of Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Cecelia Gollatz, Bernice Burzynski and Ruth Farrell; and four brothers, Richard Farrell, William Farrell, Francis Farrell and Charles Farrell.

Elaine worked for K-Mart for 14 years before retiring in 1981. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she was a joy to be around. Elaine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends called from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct.14, with wake prayers at 4 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 15, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

The family also wishes to thank the staffs at Arborwood Living Center and Saint Joseph Care Center for the care and kindnesses shown to our mother.
