Mrs. Mable Dempsey
Mrs. Mable Dempsey, 74, of 1611 Riverside, died at 4:10 a.m. today in the Carlyle Nursing Home after a one-month illness. She was born on May 4, 1907, in Bremen, and had lived in this area all her life. On June 17, 1925, in Crown Point, she married Charles I. Dempsey. He died on Jan. 19, 1967. She is survived by two grandchildren, David Michael Good and Mrs. Christine Ann Overgaard, both of South Bend, and a cousin, Mrs. Verna Robinson of Mishawaka; three other grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. Dr. Philip Sorensen, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 2 of South Bend.
