SOUTH BEND - Kathryn C. Demmon, 86, of Windsor Avenue, died at 10:38 p.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Health Care Center. Mrs. Demmon retired in 1971 from Bendix Corp. She was born Sept. 20, 1908, in Tripp, S.D., and lived in South Bend since 1942, coming from Ravinia, S.D.

On Oct. 12, 1926, in Wagner, S.D., as Kathryn C. Thaler, she married William Demmon. He died in 1950. She is survived by three daughters, Lillian Whetham and Deloris Woods, both of South Bend, and Barbara A. Tatay of Fenton, Mich.; a foster daughter, Doris Marlowe of Phoenix; a son, Douglas of Niles; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Olson of Tyndall, S.D.; and two brothers, Frank Thaler of Avon, S.D., and Albert Thaler of Wagner. She was a member of First Brethren Church of Ardmore and United Auto Workers Local 9 Retirees.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
