MISHAWAKA - Services for Theofiel DeMeyer,
94, of Douglas Road, who died at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Countryside
Place Nursing Home, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Monica's
Church. Burial will be in Fairview Mausoleum. Friends may call
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hahn Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph
County.
Mr. DeMeyer was a retired farmer and owner
of Mishawaka Sanitary Co. He was born July 9, 1899, in Nesslador,
Belgium, coming to the United States in 1918.
On Oct. 11, 1923, in South Bend, he married
Jennie Dhuivetter. She died Dec. 2, 1993. Surviving are
four daughters, Dorothy Ellis and Agnes Coddens,
both of South Bend, Betty Whittaker and Norma Ryll,
both of Edwardsburg; a son, Kenneth of South Hampton, N.Y.; six
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great
grandchild; a sister, Erma Forcier of Mishawkaa; and a
brother, Octaaf of Mishawaka. He was a member of the church, BK
Club, Bolksring Club and Moose Lodge.
