Raymond J. DeMeyer, 90, of South
Bend, IN, passed away at 2:48 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Regional
Center-South Bend. Mr. DeMeyer was born on July 10, 1912, in
Mishawaka, IN. He was self-employed as a farmer. He was also a
charter member of the Warren Township Fire Department, a school
bus driver for 27 years, a former Warren Township Trustee and
Assessor, a former member of the St. Joseph County Drainage
Board, and a board member of Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Surviving are his two sons, Larry G. DeMeyer
of New Carlisle, Ind., and Jerry R. (Susan) DeMeyer of Rochester,
MI; five grandchildren, Carl Harris, Delaine Adkins,
Todd DeMeyer, Meagen Ross, Lauren DeMeyer; nine
great-grandchildren; and by two brothers, Albert (Helen) DeMeyer
of South Bend, IN, and George (Eleanor) DeMeyer of Rolling
Prairie, IN.
He was preceded in death by his first wife,
Jean (Vermillion) DeMeyer; his second wife, Mary (Cornelis)
DeMeyer; a sister, Marie Amberg; and by a brother, Charles
DeMeyer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Friday, December 20, 2002, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
Bendix Drive. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. today and from 9:00 a.m.
until 10:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Mr. DeMeyer was a
member of Holy Family parish. Memorial contributions may be made
