Martha L. De Meulenaere

Martha L. De Meulenaere, 88, formerly of W. 13th St., passed away at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, May 31, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, after an illness. Martha was born Jan. 4, 1909, in Belgium and moved to the United States as a child.

On March 29, 1932, in Leipsic, Ohio, as Martha J. Audenaert, she married Leon J. De Meulenaere, he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1978. Mrs. De Meulenaere is survived by a son Richard ''Dick'' De Meulenaere of Mishawaka, a sister, Florentine ''Tina'' Buysse of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Kirk De Meulenaere, Kathy Stombeck, and Cory Stanage, all of Mishawaka and Kim Gaut of Port Charlotte, Fla; and eight great-grandchildren. A brother Frank Audenaert and a sister Leona Schneider preceded her in death.

Mrs. De Meulenaere was employed by Uniroyal for many years and after leaving there she had worked for West End Bakery for 15 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of BK Club ladies auxiliary and a member of the church.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where wake prayers will be said at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bavo's Church, 511 W. 7th St., Mishawaka, 46544.
