MISHAWAKA - Camiel C. De Meester, 75, of Mishawaka, passed
Saturday 26, 2007, in Hospice House South Bend after an illness.
Camiel was born April 29, 1932, in Mishawaka, as the son of the
late Edward and Madeline (Van Goethem) De Meester.
On July 26, 1952, in Mishawaka, he married the former Mary Lou Zimmerman. Camiel is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou; two daughters, Cindy (Greg) Powell of Mishawaka, Louise Barnhart of Mishawaka; four sons, David De Meester of Mishawaka, Jack (Nancy) De Meester of Dallas, Georgia, Charles (April) De Meester of Mishawaka, Tom (Becky) De Meester of Mishawaka; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-granchildren.
Camiel was employed by Selmer Corporation in Elkhart for 28 years before his retirement in 1994. He was also employed by Blessing School of Music in Elkhart for 25 years. Camiel was a member of the BK Club in Mishawaka, a United States Naval Veteran.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30th, in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 31st, in Hahn Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Erskin officiating. Entombment will follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum, where Military Rites will be honored by VFW Post 360 and American Legion 161 Burial Squad.
