GRANGER - Moline Alice de Lusignan, 78, of Grape Road,
Granger, died Tuesday, April 17, at home. She was born December
14, 1928, in Lyndonville, Vermont, to Jackson and Anna (Drown)
Ruggles.
On December 23, 1948, in South Bend, she
married Raymond D. de Lusignan, who preceded her in death in
February of this year. She is survived by two daughters, Valery
(Timothy) St. Clair of South Bend and Christina (Michael) Gordon
of Clare, MI; two sons, Dorien (Cheryl) of Zuni, VA, and Geoff
(Teresa) of Granger; seven grandchildren, from youngest to
oldest, Sarah de Lusignan, Anna de Lusignan, Kayla Gordon, Brenda
Gordon, Zachary Gordon, Jessica (St. Clair) (Robert) Monroe and
Joseph de L. St. Clair; a sister, Annaleigh (Ruggles) (Matthew) Fleming
of Dalton, NH; and a brother, Bertrand (Marianne) Ruggles of
Chesapeake, MD. Moline was a nurse and managed the family
trucking business. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma,
always putting her family first. She gave generously of herself
to others, loving to cook and share a meal with others. Her keen
sense of humor and sarcasm made her welcome everywhere, and time
and again brightened a person's day. Moline was a valued member
of the founding board of directors of Reins of Life Therapeutic
Horseback Riding, beginning in 1978. She loved to read a wide
variety of literature and did some writing herself. She played in
an orchestra and loved music. She loved God and His creation,
spending time outdoors with her family, and as a child she spent
long hours exploring the mountain streams and fishing.
There will be no visitation at this time; a
graveside service will be held at a later date. She will be
buried with her husband of 59 years at Highland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Reins of Life Therapeutic Horseback
Riding, 55200 Quince Road, South Bend, IN 46619. The HICKEY
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
