SOUTH BEND - William Tolly DeJarnatt, 74, of Elgin,
Illinois, formerly of South Bend, passed away April 21, 2008, at
4:30 a.m. (CST) in Sherman Hospital of natural causes. William
was born May 14, 1933, to the late Enoch E. and Lenna M. (Wilkinson)
DeJarnatt in Bardwell, Kentucky.
Surviving are his children, Barb Evers
of Jenison, Michigan, Jim (Yvette) DeJarnatt, of Wyoming,
Michigan, and Dawn (Pete) Roberts of Illinois, as well as
his companion, Carol Miller of Elgin, Illinois. Also
surviving are his brothers and sisters, Erv DeJarnatt and Bob
DeJarnatt, Marti Patterson, and Jane Dokey. William is
also survived by seven grandchildren; Brittney, Brooke, and
Breanne Roberts, Angelica Burchardt, Christopher
Evers, Michael DeJarnatt and Melissa Baumbach, along with
three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.
today, April 25, 2008, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776
McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana. Funeral services will be held
at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Chapel Hill with
interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
William served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War
Era prior to his honorable discharge from the military. He
graduated from Riley High School and was employed as a
maintenance man for several companies throughout his career;
locally with Western Electric. In his memory, donations may be
made to the American Lung Association.
